And don’t worry if you don’t get too overwhelmed with all the choices, because here at Decider we’re happy to do the heavy lifting and help you know what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.

New movies and shows to air this weekend: Fear street Second part: 1978, Black Widow, Gossip Girl and This way up Season 2

This weekend is all about deferred gratification, as every streaming platform finally has some highly anticipated movies and shows! After what appears to be years of waiting, Marvel fans finally get their ScarJo solo movie Black Widow, available to watch with Premier Access. And on HBO Max, Gossip Girl comes back to give us the reboot we didn’t want but now need. Netflix delivers the second installment of the Fear street horror trilogy, and Hulu is bringing the world a second season of the award-winning British comedy-drama, This way up. We’re just as excited to write this as you’re probably reading it, so let’s stop the drivel and start with the highlights and full lineups we’ve listed below:

New on Netflix July 9: The Street of Fear, Part 2: 1978

New to Netflix this weekend is the second installment of the Netflix original Fear street series of films. The story picks up from last week’s cliffhanger (spoiler alert!): Deena (Kiana Madeira) and her brother Josh (Benjamin Flores Jr.) managed to hold Deena’s girlfriend Sam (Olivia Welch), who is currently possessed by the Shadyside witch. Desperate to free Sam from demonic possession, the protagonists visit the only person known to have escaped the witch, who reluctantly tells them her story. Second part goes back to 1978 in – or else – summer camp, and somehow this teen slasher is even better than its predecessor. Catch up by watching Street of Fear Part 1: 1994, then check out one of the best new movies on Netflix this month.

New to Disney + on July 9: Black Widow

After 11 years and three excruciating COVID delays, it’s finally here: Black Widow is new to Disney + this weekend. The first MCU Phase Four movie takes a little time travel to tell the tale of the ultimate femme fatale (played one last time by Scarlett Johansson). After the events of Captain America: Civil War, Natasha Romanoff finds herself – once again – on the run. But when a dangerous conspiracy from her past resurfaces with the singular purpose of bringing her down, Romanoff must face her ruthless spy story and revisit the shattered relationships she left in its wake when she became a avenger all those years ago. The reviews are fascinating, and how this story of pre-End of Game ushering in this new Marvel phase is something we’ll all learn soon enough.

New to HBO Max July 8: Gossip Girl

You know you love her, xoxo Gossip Girl. New to HBO Max this weekend is Gossip Girl, the sequel and soft reboot of the hugely popular CW drama of the same name that took the world by storm from 2007 to 2012. This time around, however, a new generation will be propelled into the world of notoriety and scandal thanks to not only the omniscient blogger, but also social media – the one thing that could possibly increase the stalker levels set by the original series. Kristen Bell reprizes her role as the famous commentator’s voice, but new faces like Emily Alyn Lind, Eli Brown, Whitney Peak, Thomas Doherty, Jordan Alexander, Evan Mock and many more serve all the tea needed to grow. Gossip Girl in the age of social networks. And in addition, we already know who Gossip Girl is! So what is the appeal of this new series? Check it out to find out.

New to Hulu July 9: This way up Season 2

New to Hulu this weekend is season two of This way up, the original BAFTA-winning series about a woman’s repeated attempts to recover from a nervous breakdown and survive the crazy thing that is life. Season two picks up a bit after the events of season one, and we find Aine (Aisling Bea) straying from her righteous path encouraged by rehab. Will she and Richard (Tobias Menzies) finally get started? And what about Sister Shona (Sharon Horgan) problem mixing business with pleasure? This way up made waves as a surprise hit in 2019, and now we can fall in love with the chaos again with season two of this British comedy-drama this weekend.
