The fourth season of Elite has been released for a week on Netflix, solving many mysteries and strengthening friendships between the characters. Netflix ordered seasons 4 and 5 in January 2020, the pandemic has of course delayed the work, but don’t worry, season 5 is coming soon.
Fans will be happy to hear that the cast and crew are already working hard on the show’s fifth season. In a post on the show’s Instagram page, it was revealed that production for the series has already started. Each season consists of eight episodes, and it typically takes about a year between releases.
Since the streaming service had already released the second and third seasons six months apart, although Netflix has not confirmed a specific timeline, the fifth season could be released in January 2022.
Characters tend to die or disappear in Elite, so casting changes are commonplace. Plus, since the action takes place in a high school, alumni graduate and move on with their lives.
However, we expect to see some characters return, including Samuel (Itzan Escamilla), Rebeka (Claudia Salas), Omar (Ayuso), Ari (Carla Díaz), Patrick (Manu Rios) and Mencía (Martina Cariddi).
Netflix also revealed new additions to the Las Encinas family. The streaming service previously announced on Twitter: “#Elite has been renewed for a fifth season and two new actors have joined the cast: Argentine actress Valentina Zenere and Brazilian actor André Lamoglia. Zenere will play Sofia while the Brazilian actor will join the cast as Gonzalo.
In Season 5, we’ll presumably see Ari busy with Samu, while Rebe will explore his relationship with Mencía. Separately, Patrick could continue to see Omar, while Caye will have to decide what to do with Phillipe Florian Von Triesenberg (Pol Granch), a sexual predator protected by his parents as he apologized for his assault. .
Five seasons is a lot, and unusual, for a series on Netflix, and given that most of the main cast from the first season are gone or will be leaving soon, the next season could very well be the last.
The fourth season also brought a significant change: Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) killed Armando (Andrés Velencoso), who had attacked Ari. The young man decided to leave Madrid after getting rid of the man’s body with Samuel and Rebeka.
Elite tends to follow dramatically different storylines from season to season, but if Armando’s body were found in the lake, Guzmán could likely return.
Or perhaps, as in the more classic setting, another crime will be at the center of the plot and will need to be resolved alongside the emergence of new loves and rivalries.
We leave you with our review of the fourth season of Elite and an explanation of the finale of Elite.
