Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the first Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. It has been seen by more than 4.5 million people around the world and holds 60 major distinctions, with nine Laurence Olivier Awards including Best New Play and six Tony Awards including Best New Play. It is already the longest two-part play in Broadway history.
The re-imagining takes into account “the challenges of putting together and directing a two-part show in the United States on a scale of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and the business challenges faced by the theater and tourism industries emerging from global shutdowns, ”a statement from the production said. “We are delighted to be able to move forward with a new version of the play that allows the audience to enjoy the full Cursed child adventure in a single session eight times a week.
