Matima Miller, known as Swavy and Babyface.S on TikTok, is believed to have died on July 5. The news was confirmed by her friend and YouTuber Damaury Mikula who posted about the incident on social media.

Mikula described the death as “such a stupid f ** king” and said that Swavy got “shot”.

Miller was 19 and had 2.3 million followers on TikTok. He was also prominent on Instagram with over 350,000 followers on the platform.

Miller regularly posted videos of him dancing to songs in public spaces like malls.

In a video posted to her YouTube channel, Mikula broke the news.

He said, “Rest, brother. I just wanna tell you what happened and stuff, you might not know.

“My mate named Swavy is dead … I’m not going to say his real name here … but yeah man … he got shot.”

He continued, “All he’s done is make videos… he’s really real. Real, real. As soon as we [saw] each other brother, we were locked up like that… it keeps everything real.

Mikula also spoke about the effect it had on him. He said that “just seeing him get taken out, it just doesn’t make sense. It does not mean anything.”

On Instagram, Mikula also made a post to commemorate her friend. It said:

“This shit is so unreal 😢 i love you nigga i swear i go so hard with this social media shii for you i will never let go i know you rest in heaven fam n ***** i fell on the jump, i love you brother 🖤‼ ️ LONGUE VIE SWAVY 🕊🖤 ”

Wilmington Police confirmed the identity of the victim in a July 6 statement.

“The victim of this incident has been identified as Matima Miller. This incident is still under investigation and further details will be released when possible. “

Tributes poured in for Swavy on social media

After the news broke, many fans took to social media to mourn the death of the TikTok star.

Some fans have created compilations of the Babyface.S videos to celebrate their lives.

Others have posted their favorite TikToks by the dancer.

Many fans have also taken to Twitter to mourn the passing of influencer TikTok.

Wilmington has seen 82 shootings so far this year, including 16 fatalities. This is an increase from the previous year when 73 people were shot, including 11 fatally during the same period.
