Some interesting articles from Hugh jackman On Instagram, some fans are wondering if the actor is teasing a return to the role of Wolverine. Last time we saw Jackman in the iconic fan favorite role X Men superhero was in 2017 Logan, a film that served to conclude the character’s story after nearly two decades. There is no indication that he will ever reprise the role, and this seems particularly the case with the X Men configured to be restarted for the MCU.
Jackman’s return to the role of Wolverine may seem improbable, but it is not impossible. Introducing a Live Multiverse to the MCU, elements of which we’ll see in both Spider-Man: Far From Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, means that any character from other Marvel movie universes can potentially appear at any time. In other words, the door is wide open for Logan to return in one of these movies or another MCU, even if only for a cameo appearance.
On his Instagram Stories, Jackman recently posted BossLogic illustrations of the X Men icon brand claws. The next day, this was followed by a photo of Jackman posing alongside Marvel boss Kevin Feige. None of those photos contained a caption, leaving fans to speculate as to why Jackman is alluding to Wolverine while teasing an encounter with Feige. This has led to the actor’s name trend, as many are theorizing, or at least hoping, that a return as Logan in the MCU is imminent.
Filming won’t be anytime soon, but Deadpool 3 is another possible avenue for Logan’s return. At one point, Ryan Reynolds planned for the sequel to have Jackman step into the role of Logan with the two characters going on a road trip. The creative direction of Deadpool 3 seems to have changed after Disney acquired Fox, but that doesn’t mean Logan still can’t make his way into the movie. Again, with the multiverse now built into the MCU, anything is possible.
Jackman made his Wolverine debut in 2000 as a star player in the original X Men. He would reprise the role in a series of sequels and solo films, and 17 years later, he had become one of the most popular superhero actors by the time he starred in Logan. His long career in the role also earned Jackman a Guinness World Record for longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero. Needless to say, it’s very hard to imagine anyone else playing Wolverine at this point.
Jackman is expected to appear for a cameo alongside Reynolds in free guy, which is scheduled for release on August 13. He also has a starring role in Lisa Joy’s upcoming sci-fi film. Reminiscence, which also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Thandiwe Newton, Cliff Curtis, Daniel Wu, Marina de Tavira and Brett Cullen. This film hits theaters on August 20 and will also air for 30 days on HBO Max from the same day. Time will tell if we will really see him again as Wolverine.
