Jennifer Coolidge reveals why she almost didn’t do the iconic ‘bend and snap’ in Legally Blonde – and details how comedy changed her life










Jennifer Coolidge’s life changed forever after starring in the iconic 2011 comedy, Legally Blonde.

But the 59-year-old actress, who played Paulette Bonafonté in the film, reveals that she hardly did the iconic ‘bend and snap’ dance that is so often cited by fans – because she doesn’t. just couldn’t get it right.

‘I didn’t quite get it… I mean, look at the way Reese [Witherspoon] was dancing. Yeah, she probably would have the guy. I definitely wouldn’t, not with my performance, ”she told Stellar magazine this week.

‘[Choreographer] Toni Basil was disgusted at my inability to execute it. I think she was just blown away by my condition.

Luckily for fans of the comedy, Jennifer persevered and finally managed to film it.

‘[Producer] Marc Platt and the girls who wrote the movie … they sort of knew that. They had a vision. And I am very impressed, ”she added.

Jennifer then told the magazine that she got some surprising benefits from starring in the beloved movie.

“I benefited a lot from this film. Legally, Blonde made me take full flights. All of a sudden there is a seat.

“Because people love this movie. So they give you stuff – like the last seat, ”she said.

The actress recently denied that she would step into the shoes of another iconic role – that of Samantha Jones in Sex and the City.

Kim Cattrall’s exit from the franchise left a possible vacancy for a new actress to join the famous quartet.

Jennifer has been suggested by many on social media as the perfect fit to shoe Samantha Jones’ high heels in the upcoming SATC limited series.

However, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen this week, Coolidge revealed that she was not interested in the role since no one “can replace” Kim.

“I have to say I’m such a fan of Kim Cattrall, and I don’t see anyone being able to replace her in this part,” Jennifer said via video chat. It was just perfect … I don’t think you can replace her. ‘

Ironically, Coolidge played a small role in an episode of the series in 2003.

She is best known for her role as Paulette in Legally Blonde and the sexually charged “MILF”, Stiffler’s mother, in American Pie.
