Loki writer Eric Martin reveals details of a cut fight scene between the titular god of mischief and the amphibious Frog Thor.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Loki Episode 5, “Journey Into Mystery,” now airing on Disney +.

In the most recent episode of Loki, fans were treated to a cameo appearance of Frog Thor. However, writer Eric Marin has revealed that the character is supposed to debut much earlier.

On Twitter, Martin gave the details surrounding the deleted scene from Frog Thor from Episode 1, “Glorious Purpose,” which involved the fighting character Loki.

“Comic book fans will notice the thunder frog in this pot,” Martin wrote. “We actually shot a scene for the Time Theater in Episode 1 of Loki getting pummeled by Frog Thor, but we had to cut it to get things going. hell.”

In “Journey Into Mystery,” which is named after the comic book that featured Thor in 1962, Frog Thor’s cameo sees the character trapped in an underground jar. This happened just as the God of Evil and his others, whom he encountered after being sent into the Void in the previous episode, descend to the latter’s hiding place.
