They have been dubbed the new Harry and Meghan – the British aristocrat who married a raven-haired, California-born TV star who voices his support for good causes.
But Harry Roper-Curzon and Hanna Jaff’s marriage is already over, I’m sad to report, barely 18 months after they got married.
The couple had enjoyed a whirlwind romance, but seems to be unfortunate proof of the adage, “Get married in a hurry, repent at your leisure,” as they realized they barely knew each other.
Harry, the son of sculptor Lord Teynham and heir to the family’s stunning 1,500-acre Pylewell Park in Hampshire, was introduced to Hanna in September 2019 through aristocratic Martha Sitwell.
Harry proposed on the ski slopes of Gstaad just two months later – and in February 2020 the couple had married.
Despite their high profile on the social scene, the couple have kept their wedding at Chelsea Town Hall in West London a secret to their friends – perhaps to prevent anyone from wondering if they are. rushed into things.
“It’s a big mess,” a close family friend told me. “Hanna and Harry aren’t even on good terms and now they’ve hired divorce lawyers to discuss it. Fortunately, there are no children involved.
There were portents the relationship could have been cursed from the start. When Harry proposed to Hanna, who starred on the Netflix reality show Made In Mexico, he used a family heirloom – but the ring caused a rash on Hanna’s finger.
The 34-year-old, who was born in San Diego but raised in Mexico, takes pride in her work in trying to improve the world.
On social media, she urges her followers to undertake “simple acts of kindness and compassion” as well as posts supporting women’s rights, Black Lives Matter and LGBT causes.
“She’s like Mother Teresa of Mexico,” a friend told me. And on Instagram, she recently posted that she had become a Unesco “kindness ambassador”.
Hanna previously created a charity called the Jaff Foundation, with the aim of helping poor children learn to read, but she has been inactive since 2017.
Somehow, she’s managed to get an impressive academic record amidst all of her good deeds. Her CV on LinkedIn boasted that she had studied at Ivy League universities Harvard and Columbia, as well as King’s College London and, impressively, the Sorbonne in Paris.
Hanna downplayed her record by saying: “I studied French at the Sorbonne for four semesters [terms]’. And, oddly enough, since I told him about his academic accomplishments last week, many have disappeared from his LinkedIn profile.

Harry, also 34, is a cousin of the Duchess of York and can trace his family tree back to the 9th century. He now runs a high-end building renovation company. But one thing he won’t rebuild is his relationship with Hanna, I’m told.
“There is no chance of reconciliation,” said the friend. “Relations deteriorated after Harry went to visit his family in Mexico and he quickly realized that they should have known each other better before they got married.”
Last year, this column reported that Harry’s father Lord Teynham – also known as sculptor David Roper-Curzon, was sculpting a bronze bust of Hanna.
So what happened, I asked Lord Teynham. “I threw the unfinished bust into the pond on our estate,” he replied.
It takes the cookie, Rosie
Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley knows how to live life on edge – she just tasted her first cookie… in two decades.
The former Victoria’s Secret model, who lives in Los Angeles with her four-year-old son Jack and Hollywood action man fiance Jason Statham, told fans: “I’m back in London this week and I nibbled at McVitie’s Gold Bar for the first time in probably 20 years. WOW! ‘
Presenters are scrambling for a regular slot on Good Morning Britain after fan favorite Piers Morgan leaves. So have a thought for Adil Ray, who appears to have already been dropped from the line-up alongside Susanna Reid.
He barged in immediately after Piers came out in March, but has since seen his gig cut back to make way for other presenters, including money saving expert Martin Lewis. Oddly enough, Adil tweeted on Thursday: “GMB tomorrow with Kate Garraway – could be my last for a while.”
The show’s sources tell me that Adil’s “awake” character has not resonated with viewers.
