Solos (Amazon), Luca (Disney), Jupiter's Legacy (Netflix): our 3 streaming ideas for June 28

Two series and an animated film on the menu for this Monday, June 28.

Helen Mirren in space, a sea monster, pesto and the Great Depression: It’s all, and pretty much it, in the June 28 streaming releases. You have a week to watch it all. Interro next Monday.

1Solos

Amazon Prime Video David Weil series (1 season, 7 episodes of 21 to 32 minutes).

What it says

Seven independent episodes place seven characters in front of themselves. So much for the concept.

What we think

The idea is interesting, a little meta, but leads to episodes of necessarily very variable quality. Which would not be a problem if certain little gems (Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman) were not taken to the bottom by others, really catastrophic (Helen Mirren). Half a success.

2Luca

Disney + Animated film by Enrico Casarosa. Duration: 1 h 36.

What it says

A little sea monster dreams of living among humans. And ended up trying the adventure to discover ice cream, pesto pasta and bubbly Vespas.

What we think

The latest Disney animation production smacks of vacations in Italy and the carefree attitude of youth. With, always, the eternal verse on friendship and acceptance of the other.

3Jupiter’s Legacy

Netflix Fantastic series by Steven S. DeKnight. With Josh Duhamel, Leslie and Bibb, Andrew Horton (8 episodes of 45 minutes).

What it says

In the midst of the Great Depression in the 1930s in the United States, a generation of superheroes took over from the old. The task is not easy …

What we think

The historical fresco aspect is nice, the rest is awkward. Netflix had bet big on this series of superheroes – which is an adaptation of the graphic novel by Mark Millar – but will not give a sequel.
