The Luxembourg detective series has panicked Netflix counters with its first season. RTL 5minutes takes you on the set of season 2, which ends in the Grand Duchy.
On February 22, 2022, RTL Luxembourg will exclusively offer the first episode of season 2 of the series Capitani.
And it is expected, because what constitutes a first for the Grand Duchy – a detective series in the Luxembourgish language – has exceeded the expectations of its producers. First of all, a national success, with some 150,000 views per episode. Then a consecration arrived via Netflix, and after a good intuition from the producer Claude waringo (Samsa Film), which enabled Capitani to be seen around the world, arousing particularly resounding interest in South America and even making a foray into the Top 10 of the platform in France.
We are therefore waiting for Captain Capitani at the turn for season 2. But nothing to put pressure on the team, which anyway had already written this sequel before the series took off internationally.
“Already selling to Netflix, it was an incredible thing for us, told us Thierry Faber, showrunner of the series. So after that, in addition, from the first days when it was online, it goes like this. And that even in Luxembourg, people see him again […] We take the stuff […] and we take advantage. It was crazy. ”
Even if the budget is a little more comfortable, the production of this season 2 is taking place on the same standards as the first with about sixty days of shooting planned until the end of this month of June 2021. The series highlights stage a whole generation of promising Luxembourgish actors, foremost among them Luc Schiltz and Sophie mousel, and relies on the know-how of Samsa Film.
See you in February 2022 on RTL PLAY to experience the rest of the adventures of Captain Capitani.
