Scarlett Johansson has revealed that she is launching her own beauty brand after “taking a step back” from other brands in recent years.

The Black Widow star, who was previously an ambassador for L’Oréal Paris and the Dolce & Gabbana fragrance line, explained that she has been “fascinated by the transformative power of beauty since” as a child.

“My mom instilled a passion for personal care in me from my teenage years,” the 36-year-old actress told WWD.

She continued, “Several years ago, I took a step back from my beauty offerings in an effort to create something real for me. The result is a clean, accessible approach to beauty.

Her brand, which is slated for release early next year, will also be under the leadership of former Juicy Couture executive Kate Foster, who will be co-founder and CEO.

During this time, Johansson will be the founder and president.

“My mom instilled a passion for personal care in me since I was a teenager,” the 36-year-old actress told WWD

Johansson also told Allure that she “created this brand to improve cleanliness” and for “anyone who wants their skin to look its best with minimal effort.”

She is the latest celebrity, like Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, Lady Gaga, Millie Bobby Brown, Alicia Keys and Jessica Alba and Drew Barrymore, to launch a beauty brand.

Last year, the Marriage Story star married her husband Colin Jost as the world stalled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think just keeping it intimate and small made it feel like it was intentional,” she told People Magazine. “We wanted it to feel like there’s an intentional intimacy instead of being something that makes it feel like we’re being limited by all of these things.”

Scarlett also insisted that she and Colin followed all COVID-19 “protocol” in planning and organizing their wedding.

Elsewhere in the People interview, Scarlett confirmed that Marvel fans will finally find out what happened during the Budapest mission in the upcoming Black Widow, which will be released on July 9th.
