What’s a friendly neighborhood kiss between two “Spider-Man” co-stars?
Confirming our collective and long-standing tingle that Tom Holland and Zendaya could be more than just friends, the two actors were spotted kissing offscreen this week.
Unlike their ancestors in the early 2000s, the two were seen kissing right side up as they were pulled over at a traffic light in Los Angeles on Thursday.
PDA-loaded photos obtained by Page Six show Holland gently touching Zendaya’s chin as he leans in for a kiss, before the two burst out laughing.
Holland and Zendaya, who will reunite onscreen as Peter Parker and MJ in the upcoming “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” have yet to discuss their relationship status. But earlier Thursday, the couple perhaps spent time with Zendaya’s mother Claire Stoermer, suggesting that whatever their current arrangement is, it doesn’t really scream relaxed.
Fans sensed Spidey that a romance had been brewing between the co-stars behind the scenes for some time, with reports claiming the couple were indeed dating in 2017 after the release of “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
The two playfully dismissed the rumors at the time and Zendaya tweeted, “My favorite is when he says we’re going on vacation together HA! I haven’t been on vacation in years! 😂😭🤣 hbu @ TomHolland1996 ??? “
Holland responded similarly, asking his co-star if their press tour counted as a romantic getaway.
The two actors have since been linked with different partners, but apparently the draw of a “Spider-Man” romance – Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst were the first to spark the trend, and Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone followed suit. not turned out to be far too strong.
So, after years of relentless speculation and shipping, the internet happily celebrated that Tomdaya is official after the photos went viral.
In a recent UK interview with GQ, Holland opened up about how Zendaya had helped him adjust to life in the limelight.
“I used to seem a bit dumb to fans sometimes, mainly because I was always so surprised that they wanted a photo with me or a signature or whatever. I would have the typical London reaction, that of instant suspicion: ‘Why are you talking to me? “”
“Zendaya noticed this and quickly told me that kind of reaction was going to be more aggressive than just smiling and taking the picture,” Holland explained. “She has totally changed the way I am able to be more comfortable in public.”
Judging by these photos, comfortable in public indeed!
