During the 74th edition of the Locarno International Film Festival (Switzerland) which will take place from August 4 to 14, the thriller by Italian director Ferdinando Cito Filomarino, Beckett, will be presented at the opening. Produced by Luca Guadagnino, director of the Oscar-winning film Call me by your name, the film stars John David Washington, known for the blockbuster Tenet and in camera Malcolm & Marie. The actor will be accompanied by Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, Tomb Raider), Boyd Holbrook (Narcos) and Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread).

The pitch: an American tourist (John David Washington) goes on vacation in Greece with his girlfriend (Alicia Vikander), and becomes the target of a manhunt after a serious car accident. He then finds himself in the heart of a conspiracy, and must survive and cross the country to be saved. The script of this pure thriller as well as its solid cast even seduced Netflix last October, which decided to release it on its platform a few days after its opening presentation of the Locarno International Film Festival.
