Wanda in the post-credits scene.

As we wait for the next episode of Loki and more of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the will to dissect, discuss and theorize on the next list of movies and TV shows is strong. Currently, WandaVision is at the heart of this furnace. A slight modification of the post-credits scene in the finale at Disney plus, brought to the attention of Reddit and Twitter over the weekend, means there are now healthier looking trees by the lake outside Wanda’s cabin and – wait – a seemingly fuzzy object that could be Doctor Strange himself.

Let’s discuss what this all means – and if it means anything at all – below.

What’s the new post-credits scene?

At the end of the nine episodes of WandaVision, Wanda goes into hiding, holing up in a cabin where she studies the Darkhold, aka a magical textbook.

In what has become a difference game, the most recent version of the finale on Disney Plus now has a few changes, brought to our attention more than three months since the finale first released in early March.

For starters, there are now a larger number of slightly healthier trees at the foot of the mountain landscape, as you can see in the second image below.

That solid detail aside, the most intriguing and controversial inclusion is a blurry object descending the side of the mountain, toward Wanda’s cabin.

See the clip below.

Is this Doctor Strange?

There is precedent for why this seemingly CGI character could be Doctor Strange.

The character, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, was originally slated to appear in WandaVision to tie in with the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, currently slated for release in March of next year. Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff for the Doctor Strange sequel in 2016.

However, the Sorcerer Supreme was removed from the Disney Plus series because, according to Marvel chief Kevin Feige, “it would have taken Wanda away. We didn’t want the end of the series to be trivialized to go to the next movie – – here’s the blank, ‘Let me show you how power works.’ “

Does Doctor Strange, in his astral form, join Wanda? Some have pointed out that the figure resembles Doctor Strange flying in his usual standing position.

Is is that Doctor Strange?

Many are skeptical.

One argument says that the object is a glitch. “Isn’t it just the shadow of the helicopter that is badly blurred?” We wrote on Reddit.

Another wrote: “He stays in exactly the same spot on the screen throughout the shot until the house overlaps him … [sic] in the same place in the frame. “

“Maybe a reflection or something they wanted to remove,” said another.

Finally: “Looks like there’s something on the camera lens. Like a drop of water.”

Why the change, then?

You can take a cynical approach to this “Easter Egg”.

Perhaps this was an edit made after the episode’s first release just to make the trees look better. The strange figure was not meant to be included.

However, if this was deliberate information, it is fueling the fire of Marvel’s Raging Theory, which has been flamboyant from time to time on the Loki series currently streaming.

This gives fans something to debate for a year, while they wait for the sequel to Doctor Strange. This is hope in the form of a possible CGI error.

“People turn around on that weird ass shadow at the end of #WandaVision because of a TikTok and that’s perfect for Disney, who can’t say anything and we’ll all be arguing about it endlessly for a year “, tweeted CNET’s Jackson Ryan.
