One of its most recent hosts, Marie Osmond, surprised everyone when she left the show after just a year. His reasons, however, were well founded.
Marie Osmond was famous before “The Talk”
According to Biography.com, Marie Osmond was born in 1959, just before her Donny Osmond and the rest of her famous siblings burst onto the music scene with their catchy pop tunes. While Marie Osmond took a long time to reach the spotlight that her brothers discovered at a young age, she grew taller than all of them once there. Along with eight siblings, Marie Osmond and the rest of the family took the music scene by storm.
However, Marie Osmond and her brother, Donny Osmond, were the stars. Their collaborations have made it a national phenomenon. To this day, siblings are a constant on the Las Vegas scene and in places like it around the world. However, while their music helped them become the stars they are today, it only tells part of the story.
Donny Osmond and Marie Osmond took their act to the biggest stage, and it paid off considerably. The couple briefly hosted a talk show in the early ’90s and enjoyed a brief resurgence after their separate appearances on the highly successful Dance with the stars. Marie enters ‘The Talk’
Whether singing on stage or performing in Vegas, Marie Osmond has always stood out as one of the most outspoken entertainment stars. Manufacturers of The speech spoke about it when she joined the cast in 2019. Marie Osmond, who hosted the series several times in its first decade, provided an accessible and grounded voice to the eclectic and opinionated panel.

Over the next year, Marie Osmond was the voice of reason as Sharon Osbourne, and the rest of the cast fought, argued, and interviewed their celebrity guests. However, Osmond Osmond’s tenure did not last long.
In September 2020, Marie Osmond shocked fans of the series by announcing her departure. However, it was not due to a drama with his co-stars or a feud with the executives of the network. For the first time in nearly 40 years, Marie Osmond found herself with an empty nest. As such, she just wanted to hang out with her husband.
“One of the highlights of my year at The speech worked with my dear friend John Redmann, and I am delighted to continue our working relationship on several projects that we are developing. Plus my husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at university, we looked at each other, laughed and remembered that we hadn’t been so alone together since 1982 !! ” she told Deadline.
Whether it sets the stage for more musical endeavor or begins a quiet retirement for the singer, Marie Osmond has always found ways to stay relevant as the world changes around her. Its time on The speech may have been brief, but the positivity she has conveyed throughout her life remains fully visible no matter what she does.
